“The Lake Joseph Yacht Club provides a family, friendly environment where members learn to sail, race and participate in a variety of social and recreational activities.”

These are FUN races open to all members.

Race start time and location are dependant upon wind and weather - details will be recorded on the LJSC Hotline (705-375-1207) by 11:30AM on the day of each race.  We will aim for 1:00pm starts.  We try to keep the race location as close to the CNIB as possible and can generally stay around the south end of Yoho Island.  In some conditions the course is nearer the south end of Round Island.

Boats are available to be borrowed from the LJSC and will be available for rigging and use at 11:30AM on race day.  A lottery will be held for boats for those present at 11:30 and after that, if there are still boats available, it will be first-come-first-served.

Everyone borrowing a boat should arrive at the CNIB with a plan to have themselves towed to and from the race site if wind requires it.

We all appreciate careful use of the boats, proper de-rigging and stowing of gear by those who borrow them.

The races are great fun and a terrific way to get sailors of all ages competing against one another.  Everyone from White Sail campers to grandparents and weekend guests can enjoy an afternoon on the water.  (Guests need to be accompanied by a club member if borrowing a boat).

There is a gathering after the first two races that is open to all race participants, their families and club members who would like to enjoy a casual social event.  Location for each is indicated on the calendar.  We ask that everyone attending bring a snack and/or beverage to contribute.  Start time is relative to the end of the races.  Approximately 2.5 hours after race beginning.

Please come out and enjoy!!
